Hi, IEP Students! There are many fun things to do this weekend in Columbia, many of which are on campus.

Paint the M – Friday, August 19, 2016 at 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm

  • Where: Faurot Field / 600 E Stadium Blvd / Columbia, MO 65211
  • The tradition of painting the Rock M at Memorial Stadium began in 1927 and continues today. Join fellow members of your incoming class and help preserve this tradition by whitewashing the Rock M at Faurot Field. You must wear closed-toe shoes to participate.

Watch Sports – Friday, August 19th at 6:30 PM

  • Come support your Mizzou Women’s Soccer team as they take on Central Arkansas Friday, August 19th at 6:30 PM at Audrey J. Walton Stadium! Enjoy FREE ice cream as we celebrate National Ice Cream day at the opening athletic event of the year. Promotion: First 250 fans receive a voucher for free ice cream at the concession stand*FREE ADMISSION WITH STUDENT ID*

Watch a Movie – Friday, August 19, 2016 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm

  • Fall Welcome Film: X-Men Apocalypse with Hypnotist Tom DeLuca
  • Where: Jesse Auditorium
  • Description: Four-time College Entertainer of the year, Hypnotist Tom DeLuca will astound you. Afterwards, watch X-Men: Apocalypse, with the emergence of the world’s first mutant, Apocalypse. The X-Men must unite to defeat his extinction level plan.  Sponsored by Brookside, The MSA/GPC Department of Student Activities and the Department of Student Life-Campus Activities.

Volunteer – Saturday, August 20, 2016 @ 8:30 am – 1:00 pm

  • Step Forward Day
  • Where: Tiger Plaza (Rain Location: Student Center)
  • Step Forward Day is a tradition at MU for all first-year students. As a new student to Mizzou, you have the opportunity to participate in community service projects throughout Columbia. Students meet at Tiger Plaza for registration, and are bused to service agencies, volunteer, and then bused back to Tiger Plaza. Free t-shirts for participants while supplies last! Fall Welcome Concert: Never Shout Never – August 20, 2016 @ 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm

  • Where: Carnahan Quad (Rain site: Jesse Auditorium)
  • Cost: Free
  • The MSA/GPC College Music Committee is proud to present the 2016 Fall Welcome artist, Never Shout Never featuring Columbia-favorite, Tidal Volume! Formed in Joplin, MO, Never Shout Never has released six albums since their debut with 2010’s ‘What is Love?’ to their most recent album, 2015’s ‘Black Cat’.
